Among the inductees is legendary football coach Bill Zwaan, who led the Golden Rams for 21 seasons until his retirement at the end of the 2023 season. Zwaan will enter the Delaware County Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday, April 27 alongside Karen Emas Borbee, Jim Connor, Peggy Cellucci, Elizabeth Curran, Rocco Fantazzi, Jen Freemas, Gene Fieger, Casey Grugan, Cynthia Howard, Barry Kirsch, Kristen Mastroprieto, Ed Monaghan, and Don Saleski.
- Fry and Mosley Earn Collegiate Sports Communicators Academic All-District HonorsWEST CHESTER, Pa.- The Collegiate Sports Communicators released its Division II football Academic All-District squad on Tuesday afternoon. West Chester had two players honored in 2024 as Jack Fry (Norristown, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) and Shane Mosley (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) were recognized by the Association.

- Men's Swimming and Diving Edged by Delaware, 136-107WEST CHESTER, Pa.- Reigning PSAC Athlete of the Week Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) captured victories in the 1000 and 500 free to lead the West Chester University men's swimming and diving team (3-1) against Division I foe Delaware on Friday night in West Chester. The Golden Rams performed well on the night, but it was not enough to stun their Division I guests as the Blue Hens escaped West Chester with a 136-107 victory.

Lucas Henke (Rockwall, Tx./Rockwall Heath) and Voyin Markovic (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) teamed up to win their match at third doubles by a 7-5 final and Sam Robertson (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) claimed his sixth singles match by a 7-6, 6-1 final but this was as close as West Chester would come to pulling an upset as the Spartans earned a 6-1 victory over the Golden Rams.

The 2025 edition of the Alvernia Winter Invitational will see field events begin at 10 a.m., with track events getting underway at 10:30, beginning with the 4x800 relays. - Women's Basketball to Host Shippensburg on Saturday AfternoonWEST CHESTER, Pa.- After going 3-3 in December to end 2024 with a record of 4-8 overall and 1-4 in league play, West Chester has caught fire to open 2025, winning three of its four games of the New Year and each of the last two, including a 77-72 overtime victory at East Stroudsburg and a 68-58 victory over Kutztown on Alumni Day last Saturday afternoon. West Chester will look to return to 5-5 in league action and improve to 8-9 overall on Saturday afternoon when it renews its rivalry with Shippensburg on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. in Hollinger Field House.

The NFHCA recognized 32 student-athletes between its First and Second teams, and two Golden Rams earned a spot on the First Team as Jasmine Miller (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) and Paige Wolfe (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) were honored once again.

Pugliese, a Coatesville native, was a 2017 West Chester University graduate and was 30 years old.

- Four Golden Rams Earn United Soccer All-Region Honors; Haughey and Matter named to First TeamKANSAS CITY, Mo.- The United Soccer Coaches Association released its Women's Soccer All-Region squad on Tuesday afternoon and West Chester was well represented once again as four Golden Rams earned All-Region honors led by First Team honorees Kaitlynn Haughey (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Charter) and Faith Matter (Middletown, Pa./Middletown). Alyson Cutter (Warrington, Pa./C.B. South) and Jacqueline Graham (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) joined Haughey and Matter on the Second and Third teams, respectively.

- Softball Announces Meredith McAlister as Top Assistant CoachWEST CHESTER, Pa.- West Chester University softball head coach Diane Lokey has announced the hiring of Meredith McAlister as the Golden Rams top assistant ahead of the 2024-25 season. McAllister replaces longtime assistant coach Laura Altenburger, who stepped away from coaching in July.
- Softball Earns EASTON/NFCA Team Academic Award; 16 Golden Rams Recognized as Scholar AthletesLOUISVILLE, K.Y.- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its 2023-24 EASTON/NFCA Team GPA rankings and All-America Scholar Athlete honors on Tuesday afternoon. West Chester was well represented once again, earning a spot on the team GPA list with a 3.6 team GPA on the year, while 16 Golden Rams earned EASTON/NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors.

West Chester battled throughout the afternoon and claimed the second set but fell to the Raiders by a 3-1 (25-14, 22-25, 25-12, 25-22) final.
