SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.- Riding a three-game winning streak, the 25th-ranked West Chester University softball team (19-8, 5-5) was back in action on Saturday at Shippensburg (16-10, 5-5). West Chester battled throughout the afternoon but saw its winning streak halted by the host Raiders as Shippensburg earned a 4-0 victory in game one before winning game two by a 5-4 final in eight innings.

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- After playing to a split with Kutztown in its PSAC East home opener on Tuesday, the 25th-ranked West Chester University softball team (19-6, 5-3) swept a doubleheader from Mansfield (4-14, 3-7) on Friday afternoon, capturing game one by a 6-2 final before winning the nightcap by an 8-0 final in five innings.

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The 25th-ranked West Chester University softball team (17-6, 3-3) will be back in action this weekend for a pair of PSAC East doubleheaders beginning with a home doubleheader against Mansfield (4-12, 2-6) on Friday at 1 p.m. before visiting Shippensburg (14-10, 3-5) on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its Division Player of the Year Watchlist on Thursday afternoon, and Mairead Hopkins (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) was one of 15 players from the Atlantic Region to earn a spot on the list.

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University softball team (17-6, 3-3) cracked the National Fastpitch Coaches Association top-25 on Wednesday afternoon, checking in at a tie for 25th and celebrated its first ranking of the year with a hard-fought split vs #16 Kutztown (19-6, 3-3) on Tuesday afternoon in its PSAC East home opener. Playing at home for just the second time this season, West Chester dropped the opener by a 6-3 final in eight innings before winning game two on a walk-off double by Hailey Melvin (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) to earn a thrilling 7-6 comeback victory over the Golden Bears.

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- After finishing non-league play with a dominant sweep of Jefferson on Sunday, the West Chester University softball team (16-5, 2-2) will jump back into league play on Tuesday afternoon vs. rival Kutztown (18-5, 2-2) as the Golden Bears come to West Chester for a 1 p.m. first pitch.

PHILADELPHIA- The West Chester University softball team (16-5) stepped out of conference play for the final time this spring to take on Jefferson (4-16) in a non-league doubleheader. West Chester got excellent pitching throughout the afternoon, coupled with timely hitting to roll to a sweep of Jefferson, capturing game one by a 5-3 final before rolling to a 7-0 win in the nightcap.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The West Chester University softball team (14-5, 2-2) picked up its second split of PSAC East play against Lock Haven (9-7, 3-3) on Saturday afternoon. West Chester rolled to an 18-2 victory in game one on 14 hits before dropping the nightcap by a 3-2 final.
