The Repertoire Concert

The overture from Ethel Smyth’s The Boatswain’s Mate introduces this afternoon of wind band classics. The unforgettable themes of Percy Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy and Leonard Bernstein’s Suite from On the Waterfront complete the program.

The WCU Wind Ensemble is composed of 45 of the finest wind and percussion players at WCU. As a premier ensemble, the group represents WCU at conventions and performs in high schools throughout the region. Many new works have been commissioned by the Ensemble in recent years.
