SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - West Chester is completing its final preparations in advance of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which start Friday and go through Sunday at inside Seth Grove Stadium on the campus of Shippensburg University. The Golden Rams will be looking to improve upon their sixth-place showing in 2023.
Josh Farrell (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) comes into the conference meet seeded 14th in the 200 with a time of 22.08 seconds. Farrell saw success in the 2023 Indoor PSAC Championships where he placed eighth in the 400-meters while also being a part of the 4x400 relay team that placed fifth securing two podium finishes.
Josh Miller (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) comes into the conference seeded 10th in the 1500m with a time of 3:59.45. The rookie also comes into the 5k seeded eighth with a time of 15:03.03. Miller saw success at the 2024 Indoor PSAC Championships as he was on a Distance Medley Relay team that placed fourth and made the podium in the 800m.
Jason Vogt (Southampton, Pa./ William Tennent) enters the conference meet seeded 20th in the 5k with a time of 15:17.85. He also enters the conference meet seeded 14th in the 10k with a time of 32:35.59.
In the Steeplechase, Luke Pikulski (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) comes into the conference seeded 18th with a time of 10:11.21.
The 4x100 relay team comes into the conference meet seeded fifth with a time of 42.10. The 4x400 team comes into the conference meet seeded third overall with a time of 3:18.74.
In the high jump, Junior Duffault (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) comes into the conference meet seeded 17th with a mark of 6 feet, 2.25 inches. Duffault had success at the 2023 Indoor PSAC Championships where he placed eighth in the event securing a podium finish. Derrick Johnson (Langhorne, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic) comes in seeded 18th right behind his fellow teammate with a mark of 6-2.
In the pole vault, Sammy Jenkins (Malvern, Pa./Conestoga) comes into the conference seeded seventh with a mark of 14-9. Jenkins also placed seventh at the 2024 Indoor PSAC Championships in the event and looks to build from that success in this meet. Devon Carlson-Swank (Elliotsburg, Pa./Connections Charter) comes in seeded ninth in the pole vault with a mark of 14-7 ½".
In the triple jump, Chase Parkinson (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) comes into the conference meet seeded 13th with a mark of 45-1 ¾".
Derrick Lukomski-Pizzo (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) comes into the meet seeded 11th in the shot put with a mark of 47-5 ¼". He also comes into the discus throw seeded third overall with an NCAA Provisional mark of 170-5. The junior saw success at the Indoor PSAC Championships this season where he placed sixth in the weight throw and made the podium.
Thomas Smith (Wallingford, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) comes into the meet seeded 19th in the shot put with a mark of 46-1 ¼".
In the hammer throw, Ben Thornton (Lincoln University, Pa./Salesianum [Del.]) comes into the meet seeded 19th with a mark of 146-5.
In the decathlon, David Burnshaw (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) comes into the meet seeded 11th overall after tallying 5,212 points at the Messiah Multi meet earlier in the season.
