The final wind band performance of the fall semester features consortium premieres of two significant works. The Wind Ensemble welcomes Philadelphia Orchestra trombonist, Nitzan Haroz for a performance of Joseph Turrin’s Triptych. Also featured is James David’s Symphony No. 2, “The Road is Life”, a reflection on the beat poetry and music of the mid twentieth century.
The WCU Wind Ensemble is composed of 45 of the finest wind and percussion players at WCU. As a premier ensemble, the group represents WCU at conventions and performs in high schools throughout the region. Many new works have been commissioned by the Ensemble in recent years.
