Tapia Finishes Seventh to Lead Women's Cross Country to Fourth Place Finish at PSAC Championships

EDINBORO, Pa.-Kristina Tapia (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) finished seventh in 22 minutes and 43.40 seconds as one of two Golden Rams to earn First Team All-League honors, helping lead the West Chester University women's cross country team to a fourth-place team finish at the PSAC Cross Country Championships in Edinboro on Saturday morning.
West Chester's fourth-place finish is the team's best finish since placing second in 2019, it is also the Golden Rams best finish under the tutelage of Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Colin Leak.
Jessalyn Welsh (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) joined Tapia on the First Team All-Conference squad with a 15th-place finish in 23:15.30, while Ellie Goldberg (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) captured Second Team honors with a 30th-place finish in 23:44.90.
Taylor Atkinson (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) narrowly missed All-League honors, finishing 36th in 23:52.40, while Megan Werner (Bristol, Pa./Conwell-Egan) was 41st in 24:01.90.
Abbie Williams (Huntley, IL/Huntley) took 59th in 24:26.50, followed by Riley Dortone (Romansville, Pa./Downingtown West) in 105th in 25:52.60 and Grace O'Brien (Coatesville, Pa./Collegium) in 137th in 27:18.90.
Emily Bowers of Gannon won the individual crown in 22:17.0, followed by Olivia Magagna of Bloomsburg in second in 22:22.60.
East Stroudsburg won the team crown with 77 points, followed by Edinboro and Bloomsburg, while Kutztown rounded out the top five with a score of 134.
