The West Chester University men's soccer team (10-3-3, 7-2-2) was ranked eighth in Super Region One in the second Division II men's soccer regional rankings of the year released by the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Committee on Wednesday afternoon.

This is the second regional ranking of the season, but the first ranking in which the committee ranked teams after the initial ranking a week ago was just teams under consideration for a ranking, listed in alphabetical order. The committee will release a third and final regional ranking list next Wednesday afternoon ahead of the Selection Show on Monday, November 13.

Franklin Pierce (14-0) claimed the top spot in the rankings, followed closely by another perennial power in Charleston (W.V.) (15-1), with Gannon (15-0-1) in third, Millersville in fourth (11-2-3), and Notre Dame (Oh) (11-2-4) rounding out the top five. Post (10-1-4) was ranked sixth, followed by Mercyhurst (13-2-1) in seventh, West Chester in eighth (10-3-3), Bloomsburg (9-3-4) in ninth, and Wilmington (Del.) (7-5-4) in 10th to complete the top-10. Felician and Bentley were the final teams to appear in the rankings, checking in at 11 and 12, respectively.

West Chester went 1-1 a week ago, falling to Millersville by a 3-0 final on Rockwell Field before earning a 2-0 victory over Lock Haven on Sunday afternoon.

The Golden Rams clinched a spot in the PSAC Tournament last week and will have the opportunity to secure a top-two seed in the Eastern Division on Friday against old rival East Stroudsburg in the regular season finale. West Chester needs only a tie to clinch the two seed on Friday afternoon, while a win would keep the Golden Rams in contention for the top seed, pending the results of the Millersville/Shepherd game later on Friday afternoon.
