USA Gymnastics Announces Field For the 2024 Women’s Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships
2024 USA GYMNASTICS WOMEN'S COLLEGIATE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS HOMEPAGE
WEST CHESTER, PA – The 2024 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championship field has officially been set. This year's event will be hosted by West Chester University (Pa.) for the first time.
The six-team field was determined, along with its seeding, by each school's overall National Qualifying Score (NQS). Individuals who qualified for the national championships were also determined by their NQS in respective events.
Lindenwood University claimed the top seed at the championships, boasting an overall NQS of 195.940. Texas Woman's University earned the second seed with a 195.575. Claiming the third seed was the U.S. Air Force Academy with a NQS of 195.155. Brown University was the fourth seed with a 194.210, and host West Chester University locked down the fifth seed with a 193.955. The sixth and final seed was Cornell with a 193.870.
Day One of the championships, Friday, April 12, will see Session One begin at 2 p.m., and Session Two begin at 7 p.m. Session One includes: Cornell, Air Force and Texas Woman's University, and a squad of individuals from non-qualifying teams. while Session Two includes: West Chester, Brown and Lindenwood and a second squad of individuals from non- qualifying teams.
The top two teams from Session One and the top two teams from Session Two will advance to the team finals on Saturday, April 13 at 7 p.m. For the individual competitors, the top five individual scores from each session will advance to the individual finals on Sunday, April 14 at 1 p.m.
In Session One a squad of individuals will start on the vault, Cornell will begin on the uneven bars, Air Force will be on the balance beam and Texas Woman's University will compete on the floor exercise in the first rotation on Friday, April 6 at 2 p.m.
In Session Two on Friday at 7 p.m., a squad of individuals will start on the vault, West Chester will begin on the uneven bars, Brown will be on the balance beam and Lindenwood will compete on the floor exercise.
All team competitors and individual qualifiers will aim to qualify for the individual finals on Sunday, April 14.
Five individuals qualified as all-arounders and will rotate with the teams. Three of those will rotate in Session One: Krystin Johnson (Talladega), Lola Sepulveda (Bridgeport) and Morgan Price (Fisk). The two in Session Two will be Alexa Chuy (Talladega) and Abigail Kenney (Bridgeport).
The following individuals qualified and will compete in Session One. Lexi Bracher (Southern Connecticut State) and Brianna Dorr (Southern Connecticut State) will be on vault, Kylie Sitty (Southern Connecticut State) and Sophia Ruecher (Southern Connecticut State) on vault, uneven bars and floor exercise, Libby Allen (Southern Connecticut State) on vault, balance beam and floor, Ava Kelly (Southern Connecticut State) and Hanna Zebdi (Southern Connecticut State) on the floor.
Also in Session One, Gigi Mastellone (Southern Connecticut State), Jayci Jordan (Southern Connecticut State) and Audrey Arnold (Southern Connecticut State) will compete on the uneven bars. Gabriela Dinisoe (Southern Connecticut State) will compete on the bars and beam and Alexa Melanson (Southern Connecticut State) will be on beam and floor. Angel Lee (Southern Connecticut State), Angelina Stanfa (Southern Connecticut State) and Emiley Kahl (Southern Connecticut State) will compete on the balance beam. Erica Beyer (Southern Connecticut State) will compete on the floor exercise, and Liberty Mora (Fisk) will compete on the balance beam. Landyn Williams (Talladega) will compete on the vault.
Session Two individuals include: Nova Staruk (Bridgeport) and Kieran Ross (Bridgeport) on the vault and floor exercise, Emily Hernandez (Bridgeport) on the vault and balance beam, Allyah Reed-Hammon (Fisk) on the vault, and Lacey Wedge (Centenary) on the vault and floor. Sophie Schmitz (Centenary) will be on vault and bars, Samantha Nokes (Bridgeport) on the bars, Hannah Barry (Bridgeport) on the beam, and Olivia Imbarlina (Bridgeport) on the bars and beam. Catherine Aucoin (Bridgeport) will be on the bars and floor, Molly McAleavey (Bridgeport) on the beam, Kiora Peart-Williams (Talladega) and Jamilia Duffus (Talladega) will compete on the uneven bars.
Also in Session Two, Alondra Maldonado (Talladega) will compete on the balance beam and the floor, while Amy Foret (Centenary) and Rylie Molina (Centenary) will be on the beam. Olivia Williams (Centenary) and Jada Reece (Fisk) will be on the floor while, Ciniah Rosby (Fisk) will be on the beam.Izzie Plaza (Centenary) will compete on vault.
