Full PSAC Release and Final Standings
LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- West Chester University placed fourth overall in the 2024 F. Eugene Dixon Trophy Standings announced by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) on Tuesday afternoon.
The Golden Rams accumulated an average of 11.20 points across all 22 sports that participate in the PSAC. West Chester posted an average score of 10.55 in 10 men's sports while averaging 11.18 points in all 14 women's sports, averaging out to 11.20. This score was the second among PSAC Eastern Division members, trailing only East Stroudsburg (11.73), while Slippery Rock hoisted the trophy with a score of 12.76, followed by Gannon in second at 12.53.
West Chester had a year for the history books in 2023-24, hoisting six PSAC Championship trophies (women's soccer, men's swimming, women's swimming, baseball, softball, and women's lacrosse) while playing for seven and having two more programs (women's basketball and women's tennis) advance to the Semifinal round of the PSAC Tournament. West Chester became the first PSAC member to win the baseball, softball, and women's lacrosse crowns in the same season. Prior to WCU, the last Institution to win the baseball and softball crown was Shippensburg in 2003, while the last program to sweep softball and women's lacrosse was West Chester in 2021.
The Dixon Trophy is awarded to the league's most successful program at the end of each academic year based on conference playoff and/or regular-season finish. Standings are compiled based on the average score for all PSAC Championship sports each school sponsors. Equal to its total membership, each conference sport champion is awarded 18 points, and a descending point value is given for each of the respective place finishes. The second-through last-place values vary depending on the number of teams that sponsor the sport.
West Chester has won the Dixon Trophy five times, all since the 2012-13 campaign. West Chester lifted the trophy in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.
