Women's Track and Field 10th After Day Two of PSAC Outdoor Championships
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Annika Hummel (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) became the first Golden Ram to score at the 2024 PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon, finishing fourth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 12 feet 2 ¾ inches, scoring five points for the Golden Rams. With the first two days of the Championships complete, West Chester currently sits 10th in the team standings with five points entering the final day of competition tomorrow in Shippensburg.
Emily Donegan (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) placed ninth in the pole vault, narrowly missing the podium, clearing a height of 11-3.
On the second and final day of the heptathlon, Amanda Marquis (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) placed 12th overall tallying 3,466 points which is a personal best in the event for the sophomore.
In the first round of the 100m dash , Lily Palacio-Lewis (Warwick, Pa./Elizabethtown) placed ninth, crossing the finish line in 12.34 seconds, narrowly missing out on a spot in the final round. In the first round of the 200m dash, she placed seventh, running 25.46, advancing her to the final round of the 200m tomorrow.
Josey George (Oxford, Ga./Walnut Grove) placed 12th in the steeplechase running 12:15.94.
The 4x100m relay team of Gabrielle Curtis (Harrisburg, Pa./C.D. East), Katja Larsen (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), Genevieve McDonald (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown), and Lily Palacio-Lewis (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) placed fifth in the preliminary round running a time of 48.15. This time is good enough to advance them to the final round tomorrow.
