SCOUTING THE GOLDEN RAMS
West Chester is coming off a heart-breaking double overtime loss to No. 4 Shippensburg on Tuesday night. The Golden Rams fought back from a two-goal deficit to tie things up and force the overtime.
Youth will be served on this year's Golden Rams' squad that lost almost 70 percent of its offense from a year ago. Alexa Lehman leads the team with a pair of goals and a pair of assists for a total of six points through three games. Meanwhile, Sofia Brown logged a two-goal effort on Sunday from her midfield position. Both scoring leaders notched their first career goals over the weekend. Nina Scott has one goal and three assists for five points in the early going.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
Saint Anselm enters Saturday's contest ranked second in the nation in the latest NFHCA Poll. The defending Division II national champions are 2-1 on the year. Saturday's contest against West Chester will be the team's third nationally ranked opponent in its first four games. The Hawks will take on No. 4 Shippensburg on Sunday as well before heading back to New Hamphsire.
Senior midfielder Marissa Politano used a second effort to score the eventual game-winning goal 2:51 into the second half as she got her own rebound and scooped a shot over the Bentley keeper to put the Hawks in front for the first time in the contest.
Bentley outshot the visitors, 5-4, in the final quarter of action, but a pair of saves by Cameron, along with a pair of blocked shots, helped keep the Hawks in front to earn their second victory of the young season.
Politano and Kelly Holmes each have a pair of goals to lead the Hawks in scoring early on. Much of the offense runs through Politano, who has more than half the shots on goal as Holmes, who is second on the team in that category. Those two up top are the ones to watch.
Layla Cameron seems to be who head coach Carolyn King-Robitaille has settled upon in the cage. She is 1-1 on the year

WCU FIELD HOCKEY A FAMILY AFFAIR
