West Chester Holds Tight at No. 1 in Women's Lacrosse NCAA Regional Rankings
INDIANAPOLIS, IND - West Chester University remained the No. 1 team in the Atlantic Region when the NCAA Division II Regional Rankings were revealed Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Rams (17-0) were No. 1 a week ago and held onto that spot with a pair of wins last week. A little bit of a shake up below West Chester where Seton Hill slipped to fourth and East Stroudsburg climbed to third. Kutztown held steady at No. 2.
West Chester, Kutztown and Seton Hill will be in action this weekend in the semifinals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) postseason tournament. Seton Hill takes on Kutztown at 1 p.m. at home while West Chester faces Slippery Rock at 4 p.m. right after the first game.
The top-ranked team in the region will host the entire regional. The top-seeded team will play the fourth-seeded squad. The second seed will play the third seed and the two winners will meet for the regional title. The semifinal games will take place on Thursday, May 16 and the regional championship will be played on Saturday, May 18.
The national semifinals will take place at the Division II Spring Festival at Showalter Stadium in Winter Park, Fla. The four teams advancing will be seeded by the national committee, using the established selection criteria, and placed in the bracket.
The NCAA Division II Championship Game will take place Saturday, May 25.
