Last Time Out
West Chester was back in action last weekend in Maryland against Mount St. Mary's, falling to the Mountaineers by a 40-5 final. The Mount raced out to an early 21-0 lead, and despite a try by Christelle Adikpeto (Abomey Calavi, Benin/Moon Area) to open the second half scoring, the Golden Rams were unable to come all the way back in the 40-5 loss.
Flock Talk
Emma Davies (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) ranks first on the team in scoring with 34 points, with 10 conversions, three penalty kicks, and one try on the season. Adikpeto is second on the team in scoring with 25 points and leads the team in trys with five. Camryn Snow (Exton, Pa./West Chester East), Bridget Kowalski (Chester Springs, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), and Olivia Amann (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) are all tied for third on the team in scoring with two trys each.
The Playoff Picture
With a win on Saturday, West Chester will earn the third seed in the NIRA Division II Tournament and will likely face Bowdoin in the Semifinals on November 15th. A loss would likely drop West Chester into the fourth and final spot in the four-team playoff field and send the Golden Rams to the top seed, which is expected to be American International College (AIC) for the semifinals on November 15th.
Road Warriors
West Chester will play its second straight and fourth match of the year away from home on Saturday as the Golden Rams make the trek to Western Maryland to renew their rivalry with the Bobcats.
Series History
West Chester is a perfect 2-0 against Frostburg State all-time, with wins in 2023 and 2024 by scores of 37-12 and 44-3, respectively.
Scouting Frostburg State
Frostburg State enters play on Saturday looking to halt a three-match losing streak, which has seen the Bobcats fall to Bowdoin (41-20), Mount St. Mary's (28-0), and Davenport (63-18) since its last win over New Haven (55-34) on September 21st. Frostburg State opened the season 3-0 with wins over Emory & Henry (57-0), La Salle, and New Haven, but has hit tough times since. Despite this losing streak, the Bobcats still appear to be well-positioned for an appearance in the NIRA Division II Tournament, due in part to multiple Davenport forfeits from the participation of an ineligible player earlier in the season.
