Women's Track and Field 10th After Day One of PSAC Indoor Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The West Chester University women's track and field team kicked off the 2023-24 edition of the PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at Lehigh University on Sunday afternoon. After the first day of competition, West Chester resides in a tie for 10th in the team standings.

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The West Chester University women's track and field team kicked off the 2023-24 edition of the PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at Lehigh University on Sunday afternoon. After the first day of competition, West Chester resides in a tie for 10th in the team standings. 

In the Women's Pole Vault, Annika Hummel (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) cleared a height of 11 feet and 9 inches for a fifth-place finish.  Kaylie Groff (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra) and Emily Donegan (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) cleared a height of 10-3 ¼, tying for a 13th-place finish.

The Women's Distance-Medley Relay Team, composed of the quartet of Kristina Tapia (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley), Ellie Goldberg (West Deptford, NJ. / West Deptford), Josey George (Oxford, Ga./Walnut Grove), and Gabrielle Curtis (Harrisburg, Pa./C.D. East) ran a time of 12:50.77 for ninth place just missing the podium.
 
In the first round of the Women's 60-meter dash  Lily Palacio-Lewis (Warwick, Pa./Elizabethtown) crossed the finish line in 7.76 seconds for 8th place on day one. She will have another opportunity in finals tomorrow in the 60-meter dash. The senior also ran a time of 25.86 seconds in the first round of the 200-meter dash, putting her in sixth place, which allowed her to advance to the finals tomorrow.

The Golden Rams will be back in action tomorrow starting at 11:30 for the final day of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship's.
