Pair of Winners Highlight Women's Track Effort at WCU Last Chance Meet
WEST CHESTER, PA - West Chester University hosted a Last Chance meet inside John A. Farrell Stadium Friday.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Kamryn Fontaine (DuBois, Pa./DuBois Area) finished first overall running 16.96 seconds. The rookie followed up her stellar performance placing fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1 minute, 19.75 seconds.
In the 1500m, Kristina Tapia (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) ran a personal best time of 4:56.85 to take first place. Josey George (Oxford, Ga./Walnut Grove) placed second finishing with a personal best time of 4:56.99. Ellie Goldberg (West Deptford, NJ./West Deptford) placed third coming in at 4:57.32, which is a personal best for the sophomore. Anna Quackenbush (Oakton, Va./Oakton) placed fifth running a personal best time of 5:07.44. Joli Golembiewski (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) placed sixth crossing the line at 5:14.44. Jenny Weiss (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Twp.) came in eighth with a time of 5:16.95. Rounding out the top ten Grace O'Brien (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) finished in 5:45.67.
In the 800m, Tapia ran 2:30.48 for a second-place finish. Goldberg placed third running a time of 2:32.09. Quackenbush placed fourth running a time of 2:33.25. Quadasha Montford (Philadelphia, Pa./ Bodine) placed 10th with a time of 3:08.83.
West Chester heads to Shippensburg University next week for the PSAC Championships starting on Friday, May 3.
