Women's Track & Field Victorious at Home for Third Time This Season

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- Lily Palacio-Lewis (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) led the way for the Golden Rams at the Bill Butler Invitational on Saturday afternoon as she placed first overall in the 100-meter dash, running a personal best time of 12.18 seconds, moving her to 8th all-time in school history in the event. She followed up her stellar performance in the 100 by placing first in the 200-meter dash, running 26.05. West Chester finished atop the team standings with 141 points to its credit at the end of the Invitational.
Prior to today's Invitational, which also served as the Golden Rams Mental Health Awareness Meet in partnership with the WCU chapter of The Hidden Opponent (THO), West Chester took time to honor its senior class for their efforts and contributions to the Golden Rams throughout their careers.

Brianna Ribic (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) tied for 16th in the 100 with a time of 13.40.
In the 200-meter dash, Gabrielle Curtis (Harrisburg, Pa./C.D. East) placed 12th, running 27.38. Genevieve McDonald (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) placed 17th with a time of 27.59.
In the 400-meter dash, Curtis placed 14th, crossing the finish line in 1:04.95 seconds. McDonald also placed 18th, running a time of 1:08.01.
In the pole vault, three Golden Rams vaulted to a mark of 10 feet 10 inches. Emily Donegan (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) tied first with fellow teammate Annika Hummel (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg). Kaylie Groff (Palmyra, Pa. Palmyra) finished right behind her for second place, clearing 10-10. Emma Bronowicz (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) finished fourth, clearing 10-4. Haley Sambora (Exton, Pa./Great Valley) placed sixth with a mark of 9-4 ¼.
In the long jump, Ozioma Ottih (Elkins Park, Pa./Cheltenham) placed second with a jump of 15-9 ½. Katja Larsen (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) placed third with a leap of 15-9.
In the 800-meter run, Grace O'Brien (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) placed third, running 2:49.57.
In the 1500-meter run, Josey George (Oxford, Ga./Walnut Grove) placed fifth with a time of 5:05.87. Ellie Goldberg (West Deptford, NJ./West Deptford) placed tenth, finishing at 5:09.81. Anna Quackenbush (Oakton, Va./Oakton) placed 18th, running a time of 5:20.64. Joli Golembiewski (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) ran a time of 5:20.64 to finish 19th.
In the 100 meter hurdles, Kamryn Fontaine (DuBois, Pa./DuBois Area) placed fifth with a time of 17.02 while Jade Williams (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) finished right behind her with a sixth place finish running 17.25.
Fontaine and Williams also placed sixth and eighth in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking times of 1:14.43 and 1:16.37.
In the shot put, Jaclyn Borcky (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) placed eighth with a mark of 33-0 ¼ Kayla Lockburner (Hillsborough, N.J. Hillsborough) placed tenth with a throw of 30-1 ½. Adrianna Bryant (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) placed 13th with a throw of 28-10 ¼.
In the javelin, Lockburner placed second with a throw of 111-2. Borcky placed fourth with a throw of 100-10 ¼. Senior Sydney Pearson placed seventh with a throw of 88-10 ¼.
Bryant was victorious in the hammer, registering a mark of 137-10 ¾ to pace the field in this event.
In the long jump, Katie Pieslak (Yardley, Pa./ Pennsbury) placed second with a personal best mark of 17-5 ¼. Ottih placed third with a personal best leap of 16-6.
In the triple jump, Pieslak and Ottih finished first and second, respectively, leaping to marks of 36-0 ¼ and 33-8 ¾.
Jade Salmon (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) placed third in the high jump, clearing a height of 4-11 ¼.
In the 4x100 Relay, the A team crossed the finish line at 49.18 for a first-place finish.

The Golden Rams will be on the road next week as they will head back to Widener University for a two-day invitational on April 19th and April 20th.
