Women's Track and Field Finishes 10th at PSAC Indoor Championships; Palacio-Lewis Secures Two All-Conference Honors
BETHLEHEM, Pa.- Lily Palacio-Lewis (Warwick, Pa./Elizabethtown) captured a pair of All-Conference honors in the 60-meter dash and 200 to lead the West Chester University women's track and field team on day two of the 2023-24 PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. West Chester finished 10th in the team standings with 20.5 points to its name, thanks in part to 14 points from Palacio-Lewis.
Palacio-Lewis started her day with a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash in 7.69 seconds, notching her second career bronze medal after also being a part of the third-place 4x100 relay squad last Spring. This effort also serves as a new personal-best. The senior followed up her outstanding performance in the 60 with a second-place finish in the 200, crossing the line in 25.49 seconds for her second All-Conference certificate of the afternoon.
In the mile, Kristina Tapia (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) ran for a time of 5:23.43 seconds for 12th place, while Ellie Goldberg (West Deptford, NJ. / West Deptford) crossed the finish line in 5 minutes and 25.31 seconds for 15th place. Tapia also placed 17th in the Women's 800 with a time of 2:29.94.
In the high jump, Jade Salmon (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) cleared a height of 5 feet and 1 ¼ inches for sixth place, marking the second time she has made the podium in her career.
In the triple jump, Katie Pieslak (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) placed 11th with a leap of 35-9 ½ inches.
In the shot put, Emma Deyarmin (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) placed 14th with a throw of 37-8 ½.

West Chester is scheduled to send a small contingent to Ocean Breeze for a Last Chance Invitational next Friday evening. For the majority of the Golden Rams, today marks the beginning of a one-month break as the team will not compete again as a full squad until March 23 when the Purple and Gold Invitational returns to John A. Farrell Stadium.
