Stanislawczyk’s Six Goals Help No. 2 West Chester Remain Unbeaten

BLOOMSBURG, PA – Sr., Hannah Stanislawczyk (Mohnton, Pa./Gov Mifflin) scored a season-high six goals to lead second-ranked West Chester to a 16-10 victory over Bloomsburg on the road at Steph Pettit Stadium Saturday afternoon.

West Chester (8-0, 3-0 PSAC East) ran its win streak to open the season to eight straight and remained unbeaten in league play, setting up a showdown with fellow unbeaten foe Kutztown on Wednesday at Vonnie Gros Field. Bloomsburg, (6-2, 2-2) dropped its second straight conference match.
 
Stanislawczyk moved into a tie for 26th place on the all-time Division II scoring list with her six tallies giving her 240 career goals. She added an assist for a seven-point afternoon and collected three ground balls, caused two turnovers and scooped up six draw controls to fill out the scoresheet next to her name.
 
Julia Littlewood (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) and Madeline Edinger (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) each contributed a hat trick. Littlewood also added an assist for a four-point game. Edinger picked up five ground balls, caused four turnovers and collected five draw controls. Jess Harrison (Fort Collins, Colo./Poudre) scored twice as well for the Golden Rams.
 
West Chester scored five goals in the first, second and fourth quarters to spread out the scoring and keep Bloomsburg at bay for much of the game.
 
Defensively, Katie Byrne picked up four ground balls and caused four turnovers for West Chester.
 
Jess Gorr (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) made 10 saves to pick up her eighth win of the season in the cage. Her counterpart, Lauren Foley, made 14 saves.
