No. 2 West Chester Finishes Regular Season Unbeaten With Win Over Millersville
Box Score WEST CHESTER, PA – Sydney Wasdick (Pottsgrove, Pa./Pottsgrove) scored five goals for the second straight game, and goalkeeper Jessica Gorr (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) became the all-time wins leader at West Chester, as the hosts defeated visiting Millersville, 18-8, in the regular-season finale at rain-soaked Vonnie Gros Field Saturday.
West Chester (17-0, 12-0 PSAC East) finishes the regular season undefeated for the second straight year and third in the last four. Millersville (5-11, 3-9) finished up its 2024 campaign with the loss Saturday.
Wasdick registered a hat trick in the first quarter as West Chester jumped out in front 6-1 after 15 minutes. Those tallies were part of a 10-0 run from the Golden Rams that eventually put the hosts out in front, 12-1.
Millersville regrouped at halftime and put together a four-goal spurt to get the deficit back under 10 goals and stop the clock from constantly running. Shannon Meder had two of those markers.
Julia Littlewood (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) and Madeline Edinger (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) each scored a pair of goals to paste together a 4-0 run for West Chester in the third quarter. That re-established a double-digit lead at 18-6. From there, the Golden Rams allowed a pair of goals late. But, that was all the Marauders could muster.
Eight different Golden Rams scored. Littlewood finished with three. Amanda Wolfe (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) and Hannah Stanislawczyk (Mohnton, Pa./Gov. Mifflin) each posted a pair of goals as well.
Gorr made five saves to pick up her 52nd career win, which breaks the school mark of 51 wins by Jen Roman from 2001 to 2004.
West Chester earned the No. 1 seed out of the East by virtue of its PSAC East crown. The Golden Rams will travel to Seton Hill for the PSAC Tournament next weekend.
