Women’s Gymnastics Places Fourth at USAG National Finals

WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester University turned in strong performances on the floor exercise and the uneven bars Saturday night, but it was not enough to overcome the other three finalists at the 2024 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships inside Hollinger Field House.

– West Chester University turned in strong performances on the floor exercise and the uneven bars Saturday night, but it was not enough to overcome the other three finalists at the 2024 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships inside Hollinger Field House.

A raucous crowd of over 900 fans witnessed Lindenwood successfully defend its title from a year ago with a score of 195.7. Runner-up once again was Texas Woman's University with a team score of 195.45. The United State Air Force Academy placed third with a score of 194.85 while host West Chester was fourth with a 193.1. The Golden Rams' fourth-place showing is the team's best finish in school history at the USA nationals.
 
West Chester posted a 48.675 on both the floor and the bars. Jr., Jordan Coleman (Bowie, Md.) led the way with a 9.875 on the bars anchoring the event that she was named a USAG All-American in for the second straight year. So., Sarah Eskew (Pittsburgh, Pa.) registered a 9.75 on the bars as well. Eskew put up a 9.75 in three of the four events Saturday, adding vault and floor to her score on bars. She scored a 38.65 overall in the four events.
 
Jr., Kristina Rodriguez (Cincinnati, Ohio) paced the Golden Rams on the floor with a 9.8 while Caroline Cascadden (Ashburn, Va.) recorded a 9.75.
 
The final event of the national championships and West Chester's 2024 gymnastics campaign takes place Sunday at 1 p.m. with the individual finals in the four events.
 
 
USA GYMNASTICS WOMEN'S ALL-AMERICANS ANNOUNCED
 
INDIANAPOLIS, IND – Saturday morning, USA Gymnastics verified its list of 2024 USAG All-Americans, and West Chester University was well represented. The Golden Rams put one gymnast in each of the four events on the first team as well as one first teamer in the all-around. Two more Golden Rams were second team nods. All first-team All-Americans will compete in the individual finals on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. That competition will bring to a close the 2024 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships.
 
So., Sarah Eskew (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was two-time, first team All-American. She took those honors in both the vault and the all-around. Jr., Jordan Coleman (Bowie, Md.) was a first teamer on the uneven bars. She was a second-team pick on the bars in 2023. Lily McFarland (Baltimore, Md.) was a first team All-American on the balance beam, and Caroline Cascadden (Ashburn, Va.) was a first teamer on the floor exercise.
 
Cascadden also captured a second-team All-America citation on the balance beam while Jr., Kristina Rodriguez (Cincinnati, Ohio) was a second teamer on the floor exercise. This is her third USAG All-America certificate. Rodriguez was a first teamer in the All-Around and a second teamer on the uneven bars a year ago.
