West Chester University Cheerleading Tryouts 2023-24
SECOND ROUND: VIDEO SUBMISSION/FORMS SUBMISSION
May 1st – Tryout Requirements below, due by noon.
Tryouts are open to all individuals who will be enrolled as a full-time student of WCU in the Fall of 2023.
Submit Tryout Fee, if not previously submitted.
FINAL ROUND: IN-PERSON TRYOUT/INTERVIEW
May 20th and May 21st 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Invitations will be sent via email for an in-person tryout for candidates advancing to this round.
TRYOUT REQUIREMENTS
1. Video:
A. Personal Introduction: Introduce yourself, your intended major, stunting position, what sets you apart from others trying out, strengths as a team member, and why you are interested in cheering at WCU.
B. Standing Tumbling: Current video on dead mat, track, gym floor, turf, or grass
C. Running Tumbling: Current video on dead mat, track, gym floor, turf, or grass. Footage on spring floor may be used to show additional skills.
D. Stunting: Video of lib pop off, heel stretch full down, full up, j-toss or quick toss, & shoulder stand (any additional skills welcome)
E. Game material: WCU Fight Song and R-A-M-S sideline
F. Appearance:
· Females: Please wear a fitted t-shirt or tank top, cheer shorts (both in WCU colors), white socks and sneakers. Hair should be half up and half down with bow and makeup should be game day ready.
· Males: Clean shaven. T-shirt and gym shorts (both in WCU colors), white socks and athletic sneakers.
: Videos must be uploaded to YouTube and mark video visibility as unlisted.

C. Completed sickle cell test results obtained from a physician (if new to WCU Cheer)
