Men's Track and Field Competes at Garden State Collegiate Open

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.- The West Chester University men's track and field team returned to action on Friday night for its final meet of the regular season at Ocean Breeze for the Garden State Collegiate Open.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.- The West Chester University men's track and field team returned to action on Friday night for its final meet of the regular season at Ocean Breeze for the Garden State Collegiate Open.  

In the Men's Mile, Jason Shumaker (Norristown, Pa./Methacton) ran a time of 4 minutes and 34.17 seconds, which marked a new PR for the sophomore. Nicholas Falsone (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) also ran a new PR in the mile, clocking in at 4:42.30 for 23rd place. James Hartigan (Nottingham, Pa./Solanco) followed his fellow teammate's lead by running a personal best time of his own, crossing the line in 4:56.50.

In the Men's 3000 Meter Run, Sean Fisher (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) ran a time of 9:09.56, good enough for 10th place. Matt Landis (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) also ran a time of 9:23.26 for a 15th-place finish. Both times serve as personal bests for the former high school teammates.

Up Next:

The Golden Rams will be back in action on Sunday for the first day of the two-day Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship Meet in Lehigh, Pennsylvania.
