WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University men's tennis team (1-8, 0-3) returned to South Campus this afternoon for its PSAC home opener vs Bloomsburg (5-5, 2-0). Aidan Cashin (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) won sixth singles in decisive fashion (6-2, 6-1) but it was not enough to lead the Golden Rams to an upset over Bloomsburg as the Huskies escaped with a 6-1 victory on Saturday.
Felix Weber (Wolfenbuettel, Germany/IMG Academy) and Brady Burns (Narvon, PA/Peques Valley) were victorious at the first doubles spot winning 6-3 against Vishesh Patel and Sergio Dilan. The Huskies would go on to win second doubles 6-1 forcing the attention to third doubles duo Cesar DeJesus-Morales (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Colegio Marista Academy) and Andres Urrutia (Guatemala City, Guatemala/APDE SOLATO HS). The Golden Rams fell short as Bloomsburg would take the match 6-3 along with the doubles point.
Along with Cashin's 6-2 6-1 win, two of the six singles matches would go on to play a decisive set in order to find a winner Bloomsburg's Lu Casamitjana defeated Weber 3-6 6-2 6-2 moments after Albert Martin claimed the match for the Huskies against Urrutia. Burns went on to be the remaining Golden Ram on court before falling to Fernando Barros 10-4 in the match tiebreak.

Brady Burns (Narvon, PA / Peques Valley) gave the Golden Rams their only point of the day with his third set tiebreaker win at the third singles spot as the Golden Bears left South Campus with a 6-1 victory.

The Golden Rams battled throughout the afternoon but fell short as the host Marauders claimed victory by a 7-0 final.
