West Chester Men Closing in on Another Conference Title

CARLISLE, PA – West Chester University's men's swim team is on the doorstep of another crown at the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Swimming Championships inside the Keystone Aquatics Center in Carlisle Friday evening.
 
West Chester's third straight title, 24th in the last 25 years, and 36th overall is a foregone conclusion right now with one more night to go Saturday. The Golden Rams have 743 points and are comfortably in first place.
 
The Golden Rams 200-yard medley relay started things off as expected with a first-place finish.
 
Six West Chester swimmers reached the 'A' final of the 500 freestyle, and they captured second through sixth and then eighth. Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) was the runner-up with freshman Daniel Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was third. Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary), Max Bachman (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and Aidan Falkish (Lansdale, Pa./Norh Penn) went fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. Jacob Texter (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) was eighth.
 
In the 100 backstroke, Dalton Fink (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) was runner-up while Ben Desclous (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) was third for the Golden Rams.
 
Nolan Benner (Greene Lane, Pa..Boyertown) placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke.
 
West Chester returns to action Saturday morning with prelims at 10 a.m. in the 100 free, 200 back, 200 breaststroke and the 1650 free. Finals in those events, except for the mile, begin at 5:30 p.m.
