West Chester Men In Control at PSACs After Day 2

CARLISLE, PA – West Chester University's men's swim team continued to dominate the field at the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Swimming Championships inside the Keystone Aquatics Center in Carlisle.
 
The Golden Rams lead the field with 500.5 points. Clarion sits in second with 299.
 
West Chester's 200-yard freestyle relay claimed first place with a time of 1 minute, 20.36 seconds to get things started Thursday.
 
The Golden Rams took second through fifth in the 100 butterfly. Junior Dalton Fink (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) swam in 48.47 seconds while freshman Breyden Wright (Georgetown, Del./Sussex Central) was third in 48.61. Seniors Gabe Laslo (Wind Gap, Pa./Nazarreth Area) and Joel Dunnigan (York, Pa./Dallastown) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
 
West Chester swimmers claimed four of the top five spots in the 400 Individual Medley. Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary) was the PSAC champ with a time of 3:53.61 while Ben Desclous (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) was runner-up in 3:54.75. Aidan Falkish (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was third touching the wall in 3:56.88. Ryan Lee (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) was fifth in 3:59.93.
 
The Golden Rams took second, fourth and sixth in the 200 free. Daniel Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was runner-up with a 1:39.38. Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) was fourth in 1:40.10 while Devin Metzger (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) was sixth in 1:40.41.
 
The 400 medley relay rounded out competition on Thursday with a second-place finish in 3:17.06.
 
West Chester returns to action Friday morning with prelims at 10 a.m. in the 500 free, 100 back, 100 breaststroke and the 200 fly. Finals in those events start at 6 p.m. where the 200 medley relay starts things off in the evening.
