West Chester Finishes Sixth in Season Opening Galen Piper Cross Country Challenge

SHIPPENSBURG, PA - On the road at Shippensburg University, West Chester University's Men's Cross Country squad finished sixth overall in the 13th Annual Galen Piper Cross Country Challenge with a final score of 138 in the six-kilometer race. 

Out of 144 racers, West Chester held four of the top 50 places in the race. 

West Chester freshman, Josh Miller, finished in 18th place with a time of 19 minutes, 40.6 seconds. Right behind him in 19th place was junior Nick Falsone with an identical time of 19:40.6. 

Sophomore Jason Vgot, took 25th in 19:51.9. 

Freshman Matthew Landis took 50th with a time of 20:45. 

West Chester anticipates using the next two weeks to seek out competition, before its next course of action in Kutztown, Pa., at the D2/D3 Challenge.
