The difference in the game was the West Chester answered that rally with a five-run third to jump out in front, 9-4, and take a lead that it would not relinquish.
Adelphi, again, closed the gap to 9-7 with three of its own in the fourth. But, West Chester answered the bell again with one in the bottom of the fourth and three more in both the fifth and seventh. With the home team holding a 16-7 advantage, the Panthers pushed across a pair of runs in the eighth to make it 16-9. The Golden Rams scored five in the bottom of the eighth to put the game out of reach.
