Marquis Finishes Ninth in Heptathlon at Messiah Multi's

Grantham, PA - Sophomore Amanda Marquis (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) finished in ninth place in the heptathlon at the Messiah Multis on Friday evening, tallying 3435 points overall with personal best performances in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, and 800-meter run.

GRANTHAM, PA - Sophomore Amanda Marquis (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) finished in ninth place in the heptathlon at the Messiah Multis on Friday evening, tallying 3435 points overall with personal best performances in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, and 800-meter run.
 
On day one, Marquis placed 10th in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 17.32 seconds. She followed that up by placing ninth in the high jump, clearing a personal best height of 4 feet and 6 inches. In the shot put, she threw for another personal best tallying a mark of 25-05 ½. To end day one of the meet, Marquis finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.85.
 
On day two, the sophomore placed tenth in the long jump with a mark of 15-7.  Marquis also threw a mark of 65-11 in the javelin throw. To conclude the day in the 800-meter run, Marquis posted a personal best time of 2:46:38.
 
UP NEXT:

The Golden Rams will be back in action at home tomorrow Saturday, April 13th, for the Bill Butler Invitational, where they will also be helping to spread Mental Health Awareness as it has also been designated as "The Hidden Opponent Mental Health Meet."
