Women's Track and Field Finishes First at Golden Ram Invitational
WEST CHESTER, Pa.- After a strong showing at the Danny Curran Invitational a week ago, the West Chester University women's track and field squad returned home on Saturday afternoon for its second home meet of the season, the Golden Ram Invitational. Behind stellar performances throughout the afternoon, West Chester finished atop the team standings with 168 points.
MEET RESULTS WEST CHESTER, Pa.-
After a strong showing at the Danny Curran Invitational a week ago, the West Chester University women's track and field squad returned home on Saturday afternoon for its second home meet of the season, the Golden Ram Invitational. Behind stellar performances throughout the afternoon, West Chester finished atop the team standings with 168 points.In the pole vault, four Golden Rams vaulted to a mark of 10 feet 4 inches (3.15 meters). Emily Donegan (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) placed first, followed by Annika Hummel (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg), who came in second. Kaylie Groff (Palmyra, Pa. Palmyra) finished right behind her for third. Emma Bronowicz (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) finished fourth, marking a new personal best for the sophomore. Haley Sambora (Exton, Pa./Great Valley) rounded out the top five with a mark of 9-4 ¼ (2.85 meters).
In the long jump, Ozioma Ottih (Elkins Park, Pa./Cheltenham) placed second with a jump of 15-9 ½ (4.81 meters). Katja Larsen (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) placed third with a leap of 15-9 (4.80 meters).
Ottih also won the triple jump, leaping to a mark of 28-6 ½ (8.70 meters) to conclude her day.
In the 100-meter dash, Gabrielle Curtis (Harrisburg, Pa./C.D. East) placed second, crossing the finish line in 12.86 seconds. This serves as a personal best for the Junior. Genevieve McDonald (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) placed fourth with a personal best time of 12.91.
In the 200-meter dash, Grace O'Brien (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) placed ninth, running a time of 32.19.
In the 400-meter dash, Anna Quackenbush (Oakton, Va./Oakton) placed sixth with a time of 1:09.34. Joli Golembiewski (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) placed seventh with a time of 1:09.50.
In the Discus Throw, Emma Deyarmin (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) placed third with a throw of 107-5 ¾ (32.76 meters). Gabrielle Ruiz (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) threw for a mark of 82-2 ¼ (25.05 meters) for eighth place. Jaclyn Borcky (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) placed ninth with a throw of 82-1 (25.02 meters).
In the shot put, Emma Deyarmin (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) placed third with a throw of 35-10 ½ (10.93 meters), while Kayla Lockburner (Hillsborough, N.J. Hillsborough) and Jaclyn Borcky (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) placed fourth with a mark of 33-3 ¾ (10.15 meters).
Lockburner also finished third in the javelin with a mark of 102-8 (31.29 meters).
Adrianna Bryant (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) placed third overall in the hammer throw with a mark of 126-2 ¼ (38.46 meters).
Jade Salmon (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) placed second in the high jump, clearing a PSAC qualifying height of 5-1 (1.55 meters).
In the 4x100 Relay, the A team crossed the finish line at 49.10 for a first-place finish.

The Golden Rams will be back in action at home next week on Saturday, April 13th, for the Bill Butler Invitational, where they will also be helping to spread Mental Health Awareness as it has also been designated as "The Hidden Opponent Mental Health Meet."
