LOCK HAVEN, PA - West Chester University senior McKenzie Hemingway (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County) was named a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Top 10 award recipient for the winter season it was announced Friday afternoon.

The conference award, voted on by the league's sports information directors, is awarded to 10 student-athletes (five male/five female) each season with those recipients having to achieve a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.

With her selection to the Winter Top 10, Hemingway is now eligible for the PSAC Pete Nevins Scholar Athlete of the Year award, an honor given to the top overall PSAC student-athlete (male and female) at the end of the academic year.

Hemingway added the PSAC Winter Top 10 award to her growing list of postseason accolades. She became the 52nd West Chester University student-athlete to be honored as a PSAC Top 10 award winner and the seventh different women's swimmer. It marks the third straight year in which a Golden Rams swimmer has represented the Purple & Gold on the list.

Hemingway was a two-time All-American at the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships last month. The three-event qualifier for nationals placed eighth in the 100 breaststroke while posting the fastest time in the PSAC of 1 minute, 1.81 seconds during a swim-off to qualify for the 'A' final and earn one of her All-America citations. She was also a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay that earned All-America status. She finished 12th in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:02.49 that was also the fastest in the PSAC this year.

The senior was also a PSAC individual champion in the 100 breast while swimming four relays that brought home conference championships (400 medley, 200 free, 400 free and 800 free).
