West Chester Sweeps Weekly Lacrosse Awards
LOCK HAVEN, PA – West Chester University's nationally ranked women's lacrosse program took home both Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division weekly honors as senior midfielder, Hannah Stanislawczyk (Mohnton, Pa./Gov. Mifflin) and junior defender, Kendall DiCamillo (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) were named offensive and defensive athletes of the week, respectively.
Stanislawczyk was named the offensive athlete of the week in the conference for the fourth time this year and third time in the last four weeks. She was also named offensive athlete of the week the first week of the season. For DiCamillo, it is her first weekly nod this season and the second of her career. She was named the PSAC Defensive Player of the Week last season in Week 8. Stanislawczyk has won five weekly awards in her college career.
Stanislawczyk scored 11 goals and posted 15 points while also securing 10 draw controls and picking up four ground balls in two wins last week over Shippensburg and No. 25 Bloomsburg. Stanislawczyk scored six goals and had 10 points in the win over nationally ranked Bloomsburg. She filled out the scoresheet with four ground balls and four draw controls with two caused turnovers. She scored five goals in a win over Shippensburg earlier in the week. Stanislawczyk had six draws in that win as well.
DiCamillo registered nine ground balls and caused three turnovers in two wins last week for West Chester, including a victory over No. 25 Bloomsburg at home. West Chester also defeated Shippensburg last week. DiCamillo scooped up seven ground balls and caused a turnover against nationally ranked Bloomsburg on Saturday. She had another two ground balls and two caused turnovers in the win over Shippensburg.
West Chester puts its undefeated season on the line Wednesday afternoon at home against No. 11 East Stroudsburg at 4 p.m.
