Nagy Earns All-America Status in 400 IM; WCU 19th After Day 3

GENEVA, OHIO – Sophomore Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary) earned an All-America certificate in the 400-yard individual medley to highlight West Chester University's Day 3 at the 2024 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships inside the Spire Institute Thursday evening.

West Chester sits in 19th overall in the team standings while Tampa maintained its comfortable lead with 257 points to Drury's 209 points.
 
Nagy swam a lifetime best of 3 minutes, 51.08 seconds in the morning that is the second fastest time behind current Golden Rams assistant coach, Victor Polyakov. He swam a 3:51.61 in the evening.
 
"I was really excited to swim this race," Nagy said. "I swam my lifetime best today. So, I have to say I am really happy with the result."
 
Freshman Daniel Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) finished 28th in the 200 freestyle. However, his time of 1:39.19 is the seventh-fastest in West Chester school history.
 
West Chester will be back at it on Friday morning at 10 a.m. for prelims in the 500 free, 100 back, 100 breast and 200 fly. Finals in those events will take place Friday evening at 5:30 p.m.
