LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released its men's basketball All-Conference teams and Major Award Winners on Thursday afternoon. Jordan Kellier (Kingston, Jamaica/Redemption Christian) earned First Team All-Conference and Defensive Player of the Year honors. West Chester had three players honored with a pair of First Team selections and a Second Team honoree as well.

Elijah Allen (Dover, Del./Dover) joined Kellier on the First-Team All-Conference squad, while Robert Smith (Philadelphia, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) was named Second-Team All-Conference for the third consecutive year.

Kellier is the first Golden Ram to earn Defensive Player of the Year honors since Frank Rokins in 2018 and is the third Golden Ram to be honored in this fashion as Matt Wiseley was also named Defensive Player of the Year in 2016. The award was first presented at the end of the 2011-12 season.

This is also the first time since the 2019-20 season that West Chester had a pair of First Team All-Conference selections, as Robbie Heath and Malik Jackson were both recognized as First Team honorees at the end of that season.

Kellier appeared and started in all 30 games this season and ended the year averaging a double-double, scoring 12.9 points per game, while also corralling an average of 10.7 rebounds per game along with 72 assists, 33 steals, and 20 blocks on the year. The graduate student forward ranks in a tie for second in Division II in double-doubles on the year with a PSAC-leading 17 on the season while also leading the PSAC and ranking in a tie for third in Division II in rebounding, averaging 10.7 rebounds per game. In PSAC East play, Kellier recorded a double-double in 12 of 16 PSAC East games, including 11-of-12 to end the year. Kellier corralled a season-high 18 rebounds in an early season matchup at Wilmington and came away with 17 vs. Bloomsburg on January 31, along with a pair of 16-rebound performances vs. Lock Haven and Shippensburg in February. The graduate student forward ended the year with 322 rebounds, the fifth most in single-season history and the most since Ramzee Stanton had 326 in the 2002-03 season.

Allen earned his first career First Team All-Conference certificate after appearing in all 30 games with 27 starts. Allen scored in double figures in 27 of 30 games this season, including 14 of the last 15 games of the year, while also scoring 20 points or more in 10 of 27 games, including a stretch of three in a row near the midway point of the year, which saw him score 24 at Gannon, 28 vs. Clarion, and a career-high 34 in an upset win over No. 9 California (Pa.) on January 3. These tremendous efforts helped Allen end the year with a career-high 527 points, which is 10th best in single-season program history after averaging 17.6 points on 43.2 % shooting from the field, 33.8 % shooting from three-point range, and 80.1 % from the line. In addition to his scoring, Allen corralled a career-high 132 rebounds, averaging 4.4 per game, while setting new career-highs in assists (61) and steals (45). Allen posted a double-double in a November 22 win over Chestnut Hill, which sparked a five-game winning streak for the Golden Rams, finishing with 20 points and a season-high 11 rebounds. Allen also eclipsed the 1,000-career point threshold both for his career overall and his career at WCU in 2023-24, finishing the year with 1,135 points through his first two-and-a-half seasons as a Golden Ram.

Smith, the final of three Golden Rams to earn All-League honors, turned in another outstanding season in 2023-24, appearing in 27 games with 26 starts, logging just over 800 minutes for the year. Smith scored in double figures in 24 of 27 games with 11 20+-point performances, including a career-high 31 in a February 7 OT victory on the road at Shepherd. Smith, who earned Second Team All-League honors for the third time in his Golden Ram career, scored a career-high 465 points in 2023-24, averaging 17.2 points per game on 44.1 % shooting from the field, 36.4 % from three-point range and 77.9 % from the line. Smith became the first Golden Ram since 2018-19 to score all of his 1,000 career points wearing a West Chester uniform, ending the season with 1,326 points to his name. In addition to his scoring, Smith corralled 90 rebounds and also fished 54 assists, averaging 2.0 per game, along with 32 steals and a pair of blocked shots.

The Golden Rams 2023-24 season drew to a close in the PSAC Quarterfinals at top-seed Lock Haven as West Chester made its 12th PSAC Quarterfinal appearance in as many years. West Chester ended the year with a record of 19-11 overall and 15-7 in league play, closing the year with wins in five of its last seven.
