Gerald Toney Announces His Retirement From West Chester University
WEST CHESTER, PA – One of West Chester's most recognizable and one of its greatest ambassadors to the university and its football program announced his retirement this week. Assistant Coach Gerald Toney is stepping down from coaching the Golden Rams after 34 years on the sidelines. He will officially retire next month on March 20.
WCU Grad and Former Henderson Football Coach Joe Walsh Passes Away
Legendary high school football head coach, Joe Walsh (1949-2026), passed away this week at the age of 76 after a long illness. He was a 1972 graduate of West Chester University and an offensive lineman on two PSAC Championship squads (1969, 1971). He returned to his alma mater to help coach the defensive line under former head coach, Bill Zwaan, Sr., from 2013 to 2020 after retiring from high school coaching.
