Women's Golf Remains Sixth After Second Round of PSAC Women's Golf Championships

KUTZTOWN, Pa.- Kirsten Vanderhorst (Gambrills, Md./Bishop McNamara) held steady in a tie for 11th with a second-round 83 (+11) to sit at +21 (82, 83; 165) for the Championship entering the third and final round of the 2024 PSAC Women's Golf Championships at Berkleigh Golf Club on Sunday afternoon. West Chester remained in sixth after day two, firing a 342 to remain just three strokes outside the top five with a 36-hole score of 680.
Vanderhorst made the turn at seven-over (42) and played a better back nine, residing at even par for the back for the first four holes and just three-over heading to 18 before carding a bogey on the par-five 18th, which played as one of the more challenging holes on the course on Saturday.
Josephine Genuardi (Harleysville, Pa./William Penn) climbed the leaderboard on Saturday with a second-round 88, which included a birdie on the par-four 10th to sit in a tie for 24th at +29 (85, 88; 173) for the Championship. High school teammates Morgan Kunze (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford) and Cierra Griffith (Pottstown, Pa./Spring-Ford) are tied for 27th after 36-holes at +30 for the Championship after signing for an 88 and 89, respectively, on Saturday as players battled challenging conditions throughout the day as a line of rain marched its way across the Commonwealth.
Margaux Solis (Houston, TX./Klein) entered as a sub for Madilyn Siuta (Coopersburg, Pa./Quakertown) on Saturday afternoon and shot an 83 (+11) despite registering an impressive birdie on the par-four eighth, which averaged out to be the sixth most challenging hole on the course on Saturday afternoon.
Gannon remains high atop the team leaderboard after 36 holes, posting a two-day score of 616 (306, 310), while Dittie Petersen continues to lead on the individual leaderboard at +1 (71, 74; 145) despite posting four more birdies through challenging conditions on day two of the Championships.
