Smith Named to PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Squad
PHILADELPHIA- The Philadelphia Sports Information Directors Association (PhillySIDA) released its Baseball Academic All-Area selections on Wednesday morning, and Hunter Smith (Martinsburg, Pa./Central) added a final postseason honor to his 2026 campaign with an Academic All-Area certificate.
LaRosa Named ABCA/ATEC Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year
WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced its ABCA/ATEC Regional Coaches of the Year for all levels of collegiate baseball and high school baseball on Tuesday afternoon. After receiving Atlantic Region Coach of the Year for the first time in June 2022 after leading West Chester to its first National Finals appearance since 2017, head coach Mike LaRosa captured Atlantic Region Coach of the Year honors once again in 2026 after guiding the Golden Rams to the Division II Baseball National Championship game in Cary in 2026.
Costa and Lazer Ink Atlantic League Contracts with York Revolution, Lancaster Stormers
WEST CHESTER, Pa.- After playing a significant role in guiding the West Chester University baseball team to an appearance in the final game of the Division II Baseball National Championships against Tampa in Cary earlier this month, standout senior pitchers Julian Costa (Mantua, N.J./Clearview) and Kyle Lazer (Havertown, Pa./Msgr. Bonner & Prendie) have both signed Atlantic Professional Baseball League contracts with the York Revolution and Lancaster Stormers, respectively.
Michak Named to ABCA NCAA Division II Atlantic Region All-Defensive Team
WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) released its NCAA Division II Atlantic Region All-Defensive team on Thursday afternoon and Christian Michak (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) was the lone Golden Ram honored and one of three PSAC East players on the list.
Baseball Ranked Second in Final NCBWA Poll of 2026 Season
WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University baseball team (48-12) climbed to second in the final National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) poll of the 2026 season as announced by the association on Thursday morning after finishing as the National Runner-up at the Division II Baseball Championships in Cary, North Carolina, last week.
